Where we work?

MULTISAR currently operates on over 473,400 acres in the Grassland Natural Region of Alberta.

Core Areas

MULTISAR focuses on parts of the Grassland Natural Region where there is a high diversity of Species at Risk and large tracts of native prairie, as this is where the most impact can be made. MULTISAR’s programs were initiated with landholders in the Milk River Watershed and have since expanded to include the Pakowki Lake Basin and St. Mary’s River Watershed, and the South Saskatchewan River Basin. Most of MULTISAR’s Habitat Conservation Strategies are implemented in these core areas.

Grasslands Core Area Updated

Species at Risk Conservation Plans and Beneficial Management Practice Assessments are delivered throughout the Grassland Natural Region and some extend into the adjacent Rocky Mountain and Parkland Natural Regions.
